As a mom, I love Rice Krispie Treats.
They are quick, easy, and you usually have all of the ingredients on hand.
But, I also love to twist the marshmallow into different cereals for a delicious, creative treat.
They are my birthday party staples.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Cocoa or Fruity Krispies
3 tablespoons of butter
4 c. miniature marshmallows
5 1/2 c. Cocoa Puff Cereal or Fruit Loop Cereal
In a large pot, melt butter on LOW heat until completely melted.
Add marshmallows and stir. Cook on LOW heat until marshmallows are completely melted.
Stir until combined.
Take off heat.
Pour cereal into pot and stir until coated.
Place cereal mix into a 9 x 13 pan that is greased with cooking spray.
Let cool.
If you want to make balls of out of the krispie treats,
simple follow directions above.
When the cereal mix has cooled down in the 9 x 13 pan,
spray hands with cooking spray,
pick up a handful of cereal and roll into a ball.
Put a popsicle stick in the middle
&
ENJOY!
Bakers Note - if you cook the marshmallows on too high of heat - it will result in a hard krispie treat which is always a complete bummer :)
